    Location and nearby infrastructure

The former royal hunting ground Großer Tiergarten, where the court hunter erected the first building ever in 1735, is located between the Brandenburg and Charlottenburg Gates and is Berlin's world-famous green heart; for this reason, it has always been one of the most sought-after residential areas. Since the early 19th century, stately residences and magnificent city villas have been built on its southern edge. Clara Schumann lived here, as did Clemens Brentano and Peter Joseph Lenné. At least with the 1920 Greater Berlin Act, people here no longer lived only in the countryside but also in the centre of the city.

The development of the Tiergarten Dreieck (1998–2001) with its many messages was followed by the neighbouring Köbis Dreieck, in which, in Berlin's building tradition, twelve buildings are grouped around a small park, together with the much-acclaimed Hofjäger Palais. This was completed in 2015 with the construction project ”Heydt Eins“ and its representative, striking peak. Just next door, in Clara-Wieck-Straße, Berlin's most expensive apartment was sold just last year for 25 million euros.
